I want to keep this short because we are all busy. But again and again I speak to people that are in a rush and think that making money from an online business can be done with the push of a button. I’ve spoken to educated people that have spent 3 or more years in further education to get onto the rung of the corporate ladder and following a number of years they have become desperate to get their own business going. But then I hear them say that they don’t have time to learn the trade, they need to get money now.

The Systemized Entrepreneur must strive to be as effective as possible during as much of his/her work time. Being effective is a difficult thing to measure and is a subject for another post. However there are some important quick wins that one can make to increase the clarity of what you are doing and how you are doing it. From this grows the shoots of true effectiveness which is a key attribute of success in business.

One quick win that I want to point you to is “surfacing your key information”.

What I mean here is this. How much important information have you downloaded for free or for the ubiquitous $37 and commited it to your hard drive for “later”. Well we all know that later rarely comes. I’ve been there and have the tee shirt. It is the stuff of bad dreams as it is a symptom of a scattered, ineffective and most likely failing entrepreneur, and certainly not the stuff of the truly Systemized Entrepreneur.

Entrepreneur or Opportunity Seeker ?

The Internet has become the great leveler. You can now be in business in under a day and competing with the big boys. In a way the Internet is like one big newspaper job page - “Entrepreneur Required - no previous experience necessary. Choose your subject to make money.” However in the small print it says “100 hours a week - you’ll need to keep your old job going, no salary just commission, significant financial investment required, failure a likely outcome”

Not so attractive then is it.

The [Internet] Apprentice

Those of you in the US have your version of the Apprentice and we in the UK have our own. I really like the show but the number one reason I like it is not the the contestants nor the tasks they are set but rather the laser precision, super clarity of Alan Sugar’s analysis of the proceeding.

How many times have we heard him say “You didn’t do what you were asked to do !” or “you say you are a salesman but you didn’t sell !” etc etc. This man knows 100% what he needs to be doing and what his business needs to be doing. The contestants complain and disagree but eventually they realize he is right.

A good friend of mine from the Netherlands recently emailed me about a business opportunity he had found and I just wanted to share some thoughts with you that were kind of triggered by my recent watching of the Apprentice.
